Surgical Global Period Quick Reference Guide, Standard Edition is a list of Current Procedural Codes (CPT) with condensed descriptions whose purpose is to provide a resource for follow-up periods for minor to major surgeries. The medical nomenclature in which the Current Procedural Codes (CPT) were derived has become a universal language in which medical coders, medical billers, and claims payment offices communicate to accurately describe medical services rendered. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) determines global periods (follow-up days) for the surgeries named herein. Current Procedural Codes (CPT) list was provided by the American Medical Association and therefore is the most recent code set being used to date. Bare Solutions, Inc. (subsidiary of Blonde Roof) has determined the necessity for this manual, whose objective is to assist in maximizing revenue recovery, increase accuracy from a coding perspective.
